Car Wash: The Soccer program will be having a car wash on Saturday, September 26 in the Samohi north parking lot from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The players are encouraged to sell 5 tickets @ $8.00 each. The players will be asked to work a 2 hour shift starting at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m. and bring any old towels or sponges. The players need to see their coach to sign up for a shift or notify them if they are unable to attend. We will also be selling drinks and baked goods at the car wash. Seniors and juniors are asked to bring sodas or water to sell while sophomores and freshmen are asked to bring baked goods (cookies, brownies or cupcakes).

DRIVERS NEEDED!!! The Girls Varsity and JV teams will be scrimmaging at Palisades HS (Var 3pm and JV 4:30pm) this Thursday, November 19th. Volunteer parent drivers are needed to transport both teams (approx 40 girls) at 2:30pm from the 7th and Michigan gate. The Frosh/Soph girls will be staying at SAMO and going to room L104 (my wife Amy Chapman's room) for 6th period. Attendance will be taken. Everyone is scheduled to play their first game of the day with only the two teams advancing to the championship game playing a second game. The dates of the tournament are Monday, December 21 through Wednesday, December 23. The boys first game will be bright and early Monday morning at 7:30 a.m. against South East on Field 2. Win or lose, they will play again on Monday at 12:50 p.m. on either Field 1 or Field 2. The tournament schedules for the JV boys and girls will not be available until next weekend.

The JV Boys Holiday soccer tournament will be held at South Torrance High School on Monday, December 28 through Wednesday, December 30. On Monday, December 28, the boys will play Torrance at 12:10 p.m. on Field #2 and Mira Costa at 3:40 p.m. on Field #2. Based on how they do on 12/28 will determine their playing times on the 29th. On Saturday, December 26, the girls will play Redondo at 8:40 a.m. on Field #2. Win or lose, their next game will be Saturday at 1:20 p.m. on either Field #1 or Field #2. The players are responsible for providing their own transportation to the tournament. If you have a problem, please let your coach know. Please plan to arrive 1 hour before scheduled game time. Schedule for Boys and Girls Lower Level teams (JV - F/S) Tues 2/16 - Fri 2/19 All lower level teams will remain on campus and report to the stands on the track field 6th period. Roll will be taken by a coach and students will be dismissed at 3:16pm. At no time will students be allowed to leave the track area for any reason unless given prior permission. CIF playoffs start this week for the Boys and Girls Varsity teams. Boys Varsity will play the winner of Tuesday's wild card game #H (South Torrance & Mayfair) at JAMS on Thursday, 2/18. The Girls Varsity will play San Luis Obispo at JAMS on Friday, 2/19. Game times still to be determined. The full CIF playoff schedules can be found at www.cifss.org. Uniforms must be turned in (clean, in a bag, and labeled) before any player will be allowed to switch into another sport or drop (only seniors).
