SAMOHI SOCCER BOYS AND GIRLS TEAM 2007/08 SEASON Dear Soccer
Team Parents: The Samohi Soccer teams are preparing for the upcoming season. The players are eager to step up their level of play. The coaches are dedicated and love what they do. We expect another great season! We urgently
need to raise funds for the soccer teams, because the money the team receives
from the district covers only a small portion of the soccer budget. Money
is needed to pay for equipment, uniforms, staffing and a capital improvement for
the program. As usual, we have scheduled events to allow student-athletes to
raise money for the program, such as the recent car wash, which raised $1600.00. Coach Frank
Gatell has estimated that the soccer program needs about $30,000 per year,
including approximately $6000 for our capital improvement project of a new scoreboard.
There are 120 boys and girls in the program -- averaging out to about $250 to be
raised by each soccer player. Not
every family can afford $250 but even a contribution that is less than $250 is greatly appreciated. Please support your son or daughter's soccer program by writing a check, payable to "Samohi Soccer", and return it with the form below to: Samohi Soccer, C/O: F.Gatell, Santa Monica High, 601 Pico Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90405 as soon as possible. The more money
we have in hand prior to the start of the season, the more the program can do
for your kids. Donations are tax-deductible. The federal tax
identification number is 95-6002855. The
student-athletes are worth every penny we can raise for them.
They are treated to a season kick-off dinner and an awards banquet at no
charge to them. If you work for a
company that matches donations, that would be a great way to further our
fundraising efforts. The support
and donations received from parents are essential and make our program
