SOUTHERN SECTION PLAYOFFS DIVISION I Quarterfinals Buena 3, Orange Lutheran 0 Esperanza 2, Mira Costa 1 (OT) Mater Dei 1, Long Beach Wilson 0 Upland 1, Los Alamitos 0 DIVISION II Quarterfinals Redlands East Valley 1, Murrieta Valley 0 (sudden death) Briana Campos scored on an assist by Breann Puchalski three minutes into the first sudden death period to lift Redlands East Valley (22-2-2) into the semifinals with a victory over Murrieta Valley (13-8-5). Goalkeeper Erin Salazar made 17 saves for Redlands East Valley. Temecula Valley 3, Anaheim Canyon 1 Alex McLaughlin scored in the ninth minute and Natalie Duca-Tenzelier scored in the 32nd minute for top-seeded Temecula Valley (22-0-5), which added a goal by Melissa Bowlin in the 72nd minute. Duca-Tenzelier and Jacquelyn Witz each had an assist and goalkeeper Chelsea Morales made three saves for Temecula Valley. Adrianna Alonso scored in the 37th minute and goalie Kristen Armstrong made six saves for visiting Canyon (17-6-4). Hart 2, Royal 1 Thousand Oaks 1, Westlake 0 DIVISION III Quarterfinals Sunny Hills 1, Arlington 0 Tanya Taylor scored off an assist from Kelsie Layana in the 75th minute for top-seeded Sunny Hills (23-1-5). Arlington finished 17-8-2. La Habra 3, King 2 (OT) La Mirada 3, Chadwick 2 Mayfair 5, Westridge 0 DIVISION IV Quarterfinals La Salle 2, Santa Maria St. Joseph 0 Kelly Tartaglione scored on an assist by Sara Turcios in the 23rd minute and Alexa Weigand added a goal in the 38th minute for host and third-seeded La Salle (23-2-2), which defeated St. Joseph (17-10-1) and moved on to face second-seeded Granite Hills in Tuesday's semifinals. Goalkeeper Makenzie Pedrotti made three saves for her 12th solo shutout and the Lancers' 16th shutout of the season. Serrano 2, Lakewood St. Joseph 1 Kaurin Tarver scored from 25 yards with an assist from Kellci Gessendorf in the 55th minute to lift the Diamondbacks (20-3-4) to victory in a quarterfinal game at St. Joseph. Bishop Montgomery 1, Oxnard 0 Granite Hills 4, Lompoc Cabrillo 0 DIVISION V Quarterfinals Cerritos Valley Christian 1, South Torrance 0 Senior forward Ashley Hagsma of sixth seeded Cerritos Valley Christian (17-8-3) scored in the 34th minute on a counter attack against visiting South Torrance (16-5-5). Senior Tracy Boekestein, who is a 42-1 1/2 shot putter, recorded her ninth shutout of the season, stopping 11 shots. North Torrance 1, Garden Grove 0 Ashleigh Gideon scored in the 79th minute for North Torrance (16-9-3). Garden Grove finished 10-17-0. Notre Dame Academy 2, Maranatha 1 Junior center defender Tatum Marshall of Notre Dame Academy scored with only 10 minutes remaining in regulation on a rebound off the Maranatha goaltender as the seventh-seeded Regals (13-4-5) defeated the top-seeded Minutemen (22-2-3) at West L.A. College. Senior midfielder Caitlyn Huttinger scored Regals' first goal in the fourth minute on a shot from outside the box. Top seeded (22-2-3) Maranatha tied the game in the 65th minute. Oaks Christian 3, El Segundo 1 Kelsea Smith scored in the seventh minute, Kristen Clark scored in the 24th minute and Kelly Johnson scored in the 26th minute for host Oaks Christian (15-6-1). Tasha Anderson scored in the 78th minute for El Segundo. DIVISION VI Quarterfinals Murrieta Calvary Chapel 3, Arrowhead Christian 2 (OT) Whitney Booth scored the winning goal on a direct free kick from 20 yards away in the first half of overtime for Calvary Chapel (20-5-4). Sara Stousta and Amanda Lammers also scored for Calvary Chapel, which trailed, 1-0, at halftime. Ontario Christian 4, St. Margaret's 2 Ontario Christian (19-6-4) got first-half goals from Jenna Gann, Jessica Jones, Trisha Airth and Kaitlyn Mendoza against visiting St. Margaret's (19-4-1). St. Margaret's goals came in the second half. Woodcrest Christian 2, Viewpoint 1 (sudden death) Sophomore forward Kayla Troesh of Woodcrest Christian (20-8) scored winning goal in the 115th minute of play on a shot from the right side of the field into the left corner. Senior midfielder Georgia Anagnos scored on a penalty kick in 63rd minute. Visiting Viewpoint (18-4-3), the No. 3 seeded team, then tied the game with two minutes remaining in regulation.
